THOMAS MANN: The Montblanc Thomas Mann Writers Edition has been created to pay tribute to one of the most famous writers of 20th century, Thomas Mann. Thomas Mann was a German novelist, short story writer, social critic, philanthropist, essayist, and 1929 Nobel Prize laureate, known for his series of highly symbolic and ironic epic novels and novellas. His writings, most notably Buddenbrooks, are recognized for their insight into the psychology of the artist and the intellectual. Inspired by the artistic creativity of the Art Deco Era, in which Thomas Mann lived, the highlight of the pen is the delicate engraving of the Buddenbrooks house on the rhodium-plated, 18 carat gold nib. A literary masterpiece, Buddenbrooks made Thomas Mann one of the most famous writers of the 20th century and brought him immortality. Montblanc pays tribute to this unique wordsmith with an equally unique writers edition, with platinum-plated inlays in rich black lacquer. The interplay of colours and materials symbolizes the different relationships between the characters in Buddenbrooks. An onyx-coloured zircon set above the teardrop on the platinum-plated clip reflects the depth of content in the family saga. The delicate engraving of the Buddenbrooks house on the rhodium-plated, 18 carat gold nib brings to mind, Manns birthplace in Lbeck, now home to the Thomas Mann Museum. Thomas Manns signature and the ivory-colored Montblanc emblem on the top of the cap add the finishing touches to this beautiful creation crafted in honour of one of the most prolific writers Germany has ever produced.Limited to 12000 classic writing instruments worldwide.
